Chukchuki Forest Safari -15KM in 30min (One way) - Chuckchuki Watch Tower inside the National Park is a recent addition for wildlife viewing. The tower is built by the side of a natural water body which is ideal for observing wildlife and birds. Here, during winter, you can spot various migratory ducks sheltering in the pond. You have time to spend in this location searching for birds and mammals, and then we take you to Kalamati - a remote tribal village on the fringe of the national park. The inhabitants of this village are Santhals and Oraon. Here we will spend time and observe the ethnic lifestyle of the villagers. The cultural show is also performed here on request.
Chapramari Jungle Safari 30KM in 1.5hrs (one way) - Chapramari Sanctuary is famous for its natural forests. Chapramari provides an adequate shelter for several wild elephants and Bison. The Watch Tower on top of a natural pond at Chapramari commands an excellent view of the forests. From here, you may even see the herd of wild elephant as they sometimes spend a long time in the water. Spend your time amid the sanctuary watching the wild animals at their natural home and back to the resort via Murti.
Jungle safari to Khunia Watch Tower - Khunia is a recently opened Watchtower inside Gorumara National Park. The three-storied tower overlooks the vast open land of Gorumara - an ideal place for watching grazing Bison and elephant in the meadows. Spend some time inside the forest and return to Lataguri.
Evening Safari to Kalamati Forest Village - You can go for an adventurous evening safari through Gorumara forest to a remote Tribal forest village in the evening. The drive through the woods in the evening time increases your chance to see the wild animals as they usually cross the road after a day's hunt. We reach Kalamati village, where the tribal people, mainly Santhals and Oraons, would cordially welcome you with their traditional dresses. Enjoy the pre-arranged tribal dance and songs. Participate in their show and take photographs.
Samsing and Suntaleykhola, two small hamlets, hidden in lower Kalimpong hills, are known for serenity and natural landscape. We drive through charming tea gardens on a low altitude plateau to reach Samsing. In this journey, you get a nice view of the Murti River valley, which spears through the deep gorge walled by forested hills.
From Gorumara, you can go for a fascinating drive to Bindu on the Bhutan border. Reach Murti, a charming picnic spot on a Murti River bank guarded by high Sal and mixed riverine forest on one side. Spend some quiet hours on the river bed to enjoy the silence of nature and then proceed to Jaldhaka through the dense forest of Chapramari Sanctuary.
