Turuk
A hidden Jem in South Sikkim
A Sikkimese Traditional Home constructed in 1884 made the Village of Turuk a fascinating destination to explore the timeless rural scape of South Sikkim. Turuk is a little village with merely 200 households, situated at a distance of 20 km from Namchi – the head-quarter of the South Sikkim district. The tranquil nature with many short hike options among the woods and rural farmhouse reveals another face of bespoke Sikkim.
Turuk Kothi, a more than 150 old heritage Farm house managed by a hospitable Nepalese family, provides authentic Sikkimese hospitality. Fresh vegetables and fruits collected directly from the same farmhouse and freshly collected dairy products are served with a mix of passion.
Turuk, for its location, is an ideal destination to explore the South Sikkim areas including, Namchi, Samdruptse, Rabangla and the recently constructed Chardham Pilgrim circuit.
